  • Yield: 4 servings

  • 1 pre-baked pizza crust
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 ounces Italian turkey sausage link
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • ¾ cup marinara sauce
  • 5 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly shredded

  1. First, preheat the oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat on the stove top. Add the sausage to the pan, cooking about 2 minutes and stirring to crumble it. Then, add the mushrooms, peppers, onions and garlic to the pan. Saute it all for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Spread the marinara or pasta sauce on the pizza crust, leaving a 1/4” border all around it. Toss the cheese on top and spread it so it covers the sauce evenly. Add the sausage-veggie mixture on top of the cheese.

  4. Put it in the oven and bake it for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and become slightly golden. Enjoy your fresh Supreme pizza and as they say in Italy, buon appetito!

We all know and love pizza. But have you ever tried a Supreme pizza? The main toppings of a Supreme pizza include onions, Italian sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms (although you can get a vegetarian Supreme pizza, too). It's worth a try if you haven't had one yet. It really is the most flavorful pizza you can get.

What we know of as pizza came from Italy in the late 1880s. It started as a crust topped with tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella (red, green, and white being the colors of the Italian flag). People who are serious about pizza believe that there are really only two types of pizza: pizza marinara (a cheeseless pizza with tomatoes, garlic, oregano, and olive oil) and pizza margherita (which is the original type described above).

But the rest of us know the wide variety of pizzas available out there nowadays! In the US alone, you've got the popular Chicago-style and New York-style. Let's not even get started on deep dish, thin crust, grilled, wood-fired and much much more! Now getting back to the Supreme pizza.

In fact, the longest pizza delivery ever was of a vegetarian Supreme pizza. Lucy Clough of Domino's pizza chain holds that record. She took the pizza 10,532.2 miles (16,950 km) from London to Melbourne, Australia in 2004. Can you imagine the delivery charge on that?

You don't have to order a Supreme pizza; you can make it in your own home whenever you want. Using a few ingredients that you probably already have and a few that you'd have to get, you can use this delicious recipe to make your very own Supreme pizza (you can even customize the toppings!).

More about your specialty pizza...

Although everyone loves traditional pepperoni as a topping, it can be fun to spice up your pizza using unusual and unexpected ingredients. It is obviously an incredibly versatile food, so you have plenty of freedom to choose your toppings, cheese, and sauce. The great thing about it is that it is easy to tailor it to the needs of your guests.

Meat lovers will love a barbecue chicken pie with cheddar cheese instead of the traditional mozzarella. For a unique vegetarian pie, try adding zucchini, eggplant, roasted red peppers, feta cheese, and olive oil. Or you could even try a dessert themed pizza, using a cinnamon glaze for the sauce and topped with apples and pears.

We strive to bring you the best recipes, no matter what kind of unique toppings you choose. We hope that you enjoy all of the recipes that you find on this site and that you will continue to visit for all of your pizza making needs.
