Meatball Pizza

  • 1 prebaked 12-inch pizza crust
  • 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 12 frozen fully cooked home style meatballs (1/2 ounce each)
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil


  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.  While the oven is preheating, slice the onion into somewhat thick slices.  Sautee the onion in a saucepan with a bit of olive oil until the onion slices are translucent and starting to caramelize.  Do the same thing with the green peppers; sautee them in some olive oil until they start to brown.

  2. Thaw the meatballs and cut each one in half.  It’s better to thaw the meatballs at air temperature, but if you are in a hurry you can put them in the microwave.

  3. Place the pizza crust on a greased cookie sheet, or pizza pan.   Spread the pizza sauce over the crust, and top it with the garlic powder, followed by the Italian seasoning.  Next, sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the spices, and then put the onions and green peppers on top of the cheese.  Next, arrange the meatballs evenly over the pizza, and then finally sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese on top of the meatballs.

  4. Once the oven is preheated, bake the pizza for about 10 minutes, or until it is heated through completely and the cheese starts to bubble and get a little bit brown.



Meatballs and pizza might sound like a weird combination at first, but a meatball pizza is actually a great pizza that’s very filling and very satisfying.  If you can’t decide between spaghetti and pizza, a meatball pizza is the way to get both meals combined into one!

This Italian-inspired pizza is sure to please everyone in your group, especially the meat lovers.  If you aren’t crazy about meatballs, you can also make this recipe with browned ground beef, and spread that over the pizza instead.
