Homemade Pizza Recipe

  • 1 package active drive yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 ½-3 cups unbleached all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tbsp. salt


  1. Combine water, yeast and 1 ½ cups of flour into a large bowl and mix well. When mixed, add the oil, salt, and gradually add the remaining flour. 

  2. Work the ingredients together until the dough holds its shape in a tight ball. 

  3. Place the dough on a floured surface and kneed for five minutes or until smooth and elastic. 

  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a towel in a warm environment and let sit for one hour. 

  5. Divide the dough into individual servings and place on a floured surface. Roll the dough into four balls, cover each with a towel, and let sit for 20 minutes.

  6. Shape dough on a pizza stone covered with cornmeal. Add sauce, desired toppings, and cheese and bake until browned!
