Healthy Meat-Lover's Pizza

  • 1 premade pizza dough
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 8 oz low-sodium ham
  • 8 oz skinless chicken
  • 4 oz low-fat salami
  • 2 cups grated reduced fat cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Put pizza dough inside and cook for ten minutes, until crust is brown.  The crust shouldn’t be burnt – this is only to pre-bake it to reduce sogginess.  Remove from oven.

  2. Place tomato paste in a sauce pan and simmer for 10 minutes with oregano, until the paste takes on the taste of the oregano.

  3. The next step is to prepare the different kinds of meat.  Take the pieces of low-sodium ham and tear them into smaller, bite-sized pieces.  Dice the skinless chicken, sautée with barbecue sauce and a bit of olive oil until cooked thoroughly.  Cut salami into bite-sized pieces.

  4. Spread tomato paste evenly over pre-made pizza dough.  Spread ham, chicken, and salami evenly over the pizza sauce.  Sprinkle the pizza with grated cheddar cheese.

  5. Place pizza in oven, and bake for 7 minutes or until cheese is browned.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, and cut into even pieces.  Serves 4.
