Classic Pepperoni Pizza

  • 1 ½ cups bread flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 ounce sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup chopped tomato
  • ½ clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil to drizzle
  • 1 cup shaved Parmesan


  1. Mix together flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Add the oil and water to the mixture and work well to make a soft dough. Sprinkle with a little flour if too sticky – however, make sure the dough is not too dry! It should be pliable and smooth.

  2. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for roughly ten minutes, or until dough is smooth and elastic. Sprinkle with flour when necessary. Rub a small amount of oil over the dough and return the dough to the bowl. Cover with a clean cloth and leave for one hour, or until the dough has doubled in size. 

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Remove dough from bowl to a lightly floured surface and knead until excess air is punched out. Roll the dough into pizza shape – larger shape for a thinner, crispier pizza, or smaller for a softer, thicker dough. 

  4. Place dough in oven for about 10 minutes or until is lightly golden. Remove and spread on tomato sauce and tomatoes. Sprinkle on garlic. Add the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and top with pepperoni. Drizzle with olive oil. Place the pizza back in the over for about another 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.

  5. Remove, let cool, slice, and enjoy!
